Tree trimming in Texas costs $75–$2,000 on ArborHub’s 2026 statewide base rates. Small trees are $75–$250. Medium is $250–$600. Large is $600–$1,200. Extra-large is $1,200–$2,000. Those are the same numbers on city trimming pages, before a local multiplier.
A trim is not a removal. You are paying for deadwood, clearance from the roof and lines, and structure — not taking the tree down. Most healthy trees need that work every 3–5 years, not every spring.

Oak wilt blackout
That window is when nitidulid beetles move oak wilt to fresh wounds. It applies to live oaks, red oaks, post oaks, and bur oaks. Storm damage is the only reason to cut then, and the wound gets paint within 15 minutes. Full disease guide: oak wilt in Texas.

What actually moves the price
- Height and how much comes off. A clearance trim is cheaper than a full structural prune.
- Roof, fence, and power lines. Rigging replaces a chipper-at-the-curb job.
- Species rules. Oaks in the blackout, pecans that bleed after bud break, crape myrtles that should not be topped.
- Storm vs scheduled. After ice or a hurricane the same crew is booked out; that is wait time, not a different size table.
